Smart FTP - Logging into your FTP

For this tutorial, you will learn how to log onto your site's FTP account. For me, I am using SMART FTP (click here to download). This tutorial may or may not work with other ftp programs, so if not...sorry about that.

  • Open up SmartFTP.
  • At the top bar, as shown on the image below, is where you go to log into your account.

    Open up your sites control panel.
    Now, before you should have already set up your sites ftp username and password.
    I am going to assume you have already done that. If you forgot your username or password, your control panel will have that information.

  • Type in your sites address name where it says, "SECTION #1" on the image below. Example: Mine would be behindherheart.com
  • Type in your username where it says: "SECTION #2" on the image blow.
  • Where it says "SECTION #3" type in your password.
    Set the "Port" to 21 if it has not been already.
