Creating a Psd

For this tutorial you will learn how to create a psd (an image with a transparent background).

  • To start off, find your image you want to cut. To end up with the best results, make sure your image is high quality.

I will be using this image (can be found here).

  • Once you are ready to cut your image, find the selection tool and set the settings to mine below:

  • Take your selection tool and zoom in on your image (500% +)
Carefully outline your image. Make sure you don't outline the background! Take your time.

  • Once you have finished outlining EVERYTHING...right click on your mouse. There should now be dotted lines around your image.
Zoom out (using your scroller on your mouse LOL I don't know what it's called. =P).

  • Go EDIT - COPY.
Press CTRL + V on your keyboard (edit - paste).

  • Your image should now show up transparent.

Now, you will see a white area left that needs to be cut out.
Just zoom in and cut around it. Press DELETE on your keyboards & everything should be looking just fine.

You now have a wonderful psd cut out! Hopefully this tutorial has helped you out in one way or another.
When you save it, make sure you save it as .psd (IF YOU DONT DO THIS, YOUR PSD WILL NOT COME OUT TRANSPARENT).
